Meet the Doctor

Meet the Doctor

Benjamin Young, DDS, MS has been practicing periodontics for over 25 years.

Dr. Benjamin Young first started practicing periodontics in 1988 while serving in the U.S. Air Force and began private practice in San Antonio in 1997. He is driven by the philosophy of providing his patients the best in minimally invasive periodontal treatment, using the most advanced technology in a caring and friendly environment. He is also an accomplished educator and trainer for fellow practitioners.

Dr. Young ensures his patients receive the highest standard of care by keeping abreast of technical developments through extensive continuing education.

“If there are better ways to treat patients, then I want to find out about them and put them to use,” he says. On this basis he has implemented advanced laser gum disease treatment, 3D imaging and computer-guided implant placement as major elements of his treatment procedures. These state-of-the-art advancements make his gum disease and implant treatments minimally invasive and thus more comfortable for patients.

Caring and friendly

Dr. Young is known for his kind and friendly approach to patients. Patients remark how he takes the time to thoroughly educate them on his findings and their treatment options, so they are well-informed and can feel at ease. He is also frequently complimented for his steady hand and gentle chairside manner.

“I am humbled when I think people give me permission to work inside their mouths,” he says, “and I hope I am able to do it in ways that enable them to overcome their fears and obtain the things they wish to have.”
